The Miniature Big City, just a stone's throw away

The city of Zurich is famous for many reasons: as a financial metropolis, as the most expensive city in the world, and for the Bahnhofstrasse with its countless shops and boutiques. But there is much more to Zurich, with its unique combination of opposites in a relatively compact space. Zurich is a lively and dynamic small-scale metropolis in a singular location on Lake Zurich looking out to the Alps on the horizon. It offers excellent shopping, athletic, and leisure activities as well as a unique and diverse cultural scene. There is never a dull moment in Zurich's museums with their world-class exhibitions, including the Kunsthaus, the Swiss National Museum, the Rietberg Museum, and the FIFA Football Museum, while the Opera House and Tonhalle provide top-notch musical programming. The zoo with its impressive exotic landscapes and wild animals is beloved by young and old alike.
Zurich can be reached easily by public transport from Vitznau in 1.5 hours . Hourly connections run until late in the evening.
