KKL Luzern

Experience world-class acoustics in the KKL

In the Lucerne lake basin, the cosmopolitan, striking building with the huge projecting roof immediately catches the eye. The futuristic building is an architectural masterpiece and was designed by the well-known French architect Jean Nouvel in collaboration with the well-known acoustician Russel Johnson. The concert hall is considered one of the most outstanding for classical concerts, where you can even hear a pin drop. Jean Nouvel has combined three parts of the building under the large roof of the KKL: The concert hall wing mainly for classical and acoustic concerts, the Lucerne hall wing for a wide range of performances, and the congress and museum wing with an art exhibition. An insider tip is to visit the Lucerne Terrace directly under the imposing roof. Visiting a concert is always an acoustically impressive experience. The events can be booked online. The KKL can be reached from Vitznau with a direct boat connection and late in the evening you can return with the night bus.
